Hello and welcome to the dev team! Before you can enter the developer channels, please read the following.
Roles within the dev team
- Junior Developer: Newly joined coders who want to help with the mod. You will first be assigned a project and are expected to help to the best of your ability.
- Developer: Coders who have contributed substantially to the mod or demonstrated valuable coding skills.
- Senior Developer: Contributors who have proven their competence and need little guidance. Their seniority reflects experience; they do not make decisions on behalf of the mod.
- Inactive Dev: Coders who reached at least Developer rank and are taking a break from modding. In most cases, please do not bother them.
- Council Member: The top level of the team. Council members have the final say on mod-related matters.
The channels
The general work channels are always relevant to the mod’s ongoing development. Other work channels are organized by their expected release, with the next upcoming release listed first.
Keep team chat, development discussion, and feedback in the appropriate channels rather than in DMs. This lets the team see what is happening and keeps the project transparent.
Tabled Reworks contains projects that received some development but whose coder stopped working or became unavailable. These projects are not in active development and may never be completed. Archive contains old channels.
The first thing to do
We are a helpful team. If you have suggestions or need help, ask in the appropriate channel or ping another team member.
First, set up your GitHub account using this guide (opens in new tab). Once you have finished, send your GitHub username to DROID if you are a Junior Developer. If you have questions during setup, please ping a team member. GitHub access is required to contribute to the mod.

Trial Period
As a Junior Developer, you have a one-month trial period. Your GitHub access expires after one month unless it is renewed. We will continue to renew it while you remain active, until you have completed enough work to be promoted to Developer.
We understand that everyone has a personal life and that things come up. We still expect you to respond when the team is tagged to check who is available. If you stop responding, you may be removed from the team until you resume communication.
At the end of each month, we review team members’ activity to decide whether to renew GitHub access. During the month, we or your mentor may ask for a project status update. If you do not respond, you risk being removed from the team. If your GitHub access expires, you will also be removed from the development team on Discord.
Junior Developers cannot start new projects. Because many projects have gone unfinished in the past, you must first complete your assigned work and show that you can contribute reliably. Starting new projects is a responsibility of Developers. Once promoted, you can choose projects of your own. This helps us avoid a backlog of unfinished work.
Final reminders
Do not turn off mentions. They are how we contact you. If you turn them off and do not respond, you risk being removed from the team for inactivity.
Tell DROID if you change your Discord name. For example, if you change from Fire_hair#6887 to Newbpwner#0420, DM or tag DROID with your new name. Otherwise, we may not recognize you and could remove you by mistake.
Report longer absences. If you will be away for a week or more, tag DROID in your development channel and explain why.
Always commit and push when you stop coding. This applies to Junior Developers and Developers, whether you are taking a short break or finishing for the day. Do not leave your work only on your computer.
